What Upper Austria offers:

What Upper Austria offers:

In 1990 a pilot course in mechatronics was introduced at the JKU. This brought me from my home region of the Waldviertel in Lower Austria to Linz. Since then many other innovative degree courses have started at universities and universities of applied sciences in the heart of Upper Austria. They attract talented people and break new ground. This is a very good environment for an innovative company like Catalysts. And we also try to break new ground, for instance by promoting talent with our coding contests for school pupils, students and practitioners, thanks to which we now shine like a beacon, casting light from Linz into the whole world and drawing attention to ourselves and our region. In addition we offer over 70 work experience places every year. Dr. Christoph Steindl, CEO Catalysts GmbH
For us as a non-university research institution, Softwarepark Hagenberg in Upper Austria offers us many different opportunities for cooperating with other companies and research facilities on conducting our international customer projects. Its closeness to institutes of the JKU, especially the RISC Institute, and access to highly qualified graduates provide us with perfect conditions in which to take our research and development activities to new levels at the cutting edge of technology. Wolfgang Freiseisen, CEO RISC Software GmbH

After studying and working in Brazil, I decided I wanted to go abroad to have an experience working in another country. I like the company and my job in Linz because I am working with up to date technology, doing what I like, and I think the employee is well respected in Austria, in terms of benefits like health insurance, amount of vacations, work load, etc. One thing that helped me since I am here was the operation of the organization Business Upper Austria, by their work promoting meetings and workshops about relevant topic to foreigners new in Upper Austria.
